Rain run tips by #TheRunningWeek
Want to make rainy runs more enjoyable (and less messy)?
Here are 5 tips to help you crush your next wet-weather workout:
Wear a brimmed hat – It keeps the rain off your face and helps you see clearly.
Avoid cotton – It soaks up water and sticks to your skin. Opt for quick-dry synthetics or merino.
Use Vaseline or anti-chafe balm – Wet clothes = more friction. Protect your skin early.
Choose routes with good footing – Wet pavement, slick leaves, or muddy trails can get dicey. Be mindful.
Have a towel and dry clothes ready – Nothing feels better than getting warm and dry right after.
Bonus tip: warm up first. That way, when you step out into the rain, your body’s already moving, and it doesn’t feel like such a shock.
Maintain hydration even in rains- Your body does lose water running in rain as in dry conditions, so remember to maintain hydration.
Rain doesn’t ruin your run it sharpens your edge.
